Parade rocked, hope GK's epic + TAGGED

The Chinatown SeaFair parade was epic this year! Not as many cosplayers showed up as usual, but that's understandable since Otakon was going on as well as that night being the VAMPS concert. Oh well... At least it was a little bit more organized than the chaos that was last year's parade. And man was there quite a bit of Vocaloid cosplay! LOL...even Roy got in on the fun and wore his Miku costume (I swear, he's epic at crossplay). For those of you on my f-list unfamiliar with that name, I'm referring to my bud Roy Duran - the Vice-Chairman of SakuraCon. My sister had a great time, too, and debuted her epic steampunk costume (& borrowed the yellow wig I got from ~caineyamiyasha ). There was certainly some interesting little-done cosplays (like this one girl who did Badou Nails from DOGS: Bullets & Carnage), and sadly I was the only person who was doing Pokémon cosplay (major suckage). And after the parade was over, I enjoyed a fun late dinner at IHOP with a friend (~Javakat343) and her buds. Oh, and kudos to ~MiyuYuuhi and ~lil-gumby for great costumes!

Now I'm eagerly looking forward to GasuKan on Saturday. May my fun (and oh so comfy) debut of 'Hawaiian Luau' Choji be a real joy! Not to mention it'll be great to be back at Lincoln Park again... that place rocks to infinity (esp. the beach and that white Star Wars-esque bathroom that's near the beach). ^_^

-----------------------------------------------------
EDIT = I got tagged by ~lil-gumby of Ramune Cosplay! :iconramune-cosplay:

So here's the dealio... gotta post 8 random things about myself, and then go tag 8 of my friends to do the same (and also no tag-backs, btw).

1. - My new fave flave of CupNoodles is Cheddar Cheese <3
2. - Still hoping to get a new job & ditch dumbass BK
3. - Attended private school for 80% of my school years
4. - Been thinking of wild ideas for new Pokémon after my sis mentioned they should have all types evolve from Eevee (can't do all individually, though; 2 of them can be dual types - Bug/Flying and Rock/Fighting)
5. - I've majorly gotten into playing Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
6. - Recently found and bought an epic letter opener that's a sword with an elaborate handle/hand-guard & was made in Spain (also has a really cool sheath made out of real leather)
7. - Bought a cool pocket mirror to bring with me whenever going somewhere that involves cosplay (to be nice to other people should they ever need a mirror for whatever reason, besides using it myself)
8. - Currently working out details and some art-related stuff on a very awesome top-secret project me and my sis are formulating (and btw, it has to do with our love of cosplay)

And I tag the following peeps =

The parade was SOOOO FUN! :D Even though there weren't quite as many people as last year, that helped keep us a little more organized. XD

It was truly a vocaloid fest...I was surprised by the small number of Naruto and Bleach cosplayers.

Unfortunately, I can't go to this month's gasukan, as it is :iconmikoto02: 's birthday party that day. Maybe I'll see you there next month! :D

Interesting that she's having the party on Saturday, considering that today (Tuesday) is officially her b-day. Oh well... not bad. Sure hope you make it to next month's GK - have you figured out a costume yet for it? Gonna be lots of Final Fantasy stuff (wheeee), not to mention all the talk of Escaflowne cosplay to be had. >3<

hahah, The parade really was enjoyable.
I personally didn't mind getting there so early (Got there about 3:40ish).
The night before I looked up the past couple parades that had happened and I noticed a lot more cosplayers..
But there was the concert and stuff going on so no surprise there.
hahah I loved seeing the Crossplay and Vocaloids.
It was amazing at the amount there were.
I wish I had my Kaito cosplay made.
xD
But Near was so comfortable and I enjoyed being able to carry my favorite stuffed bear around.

Umm...Whats GasuKan?
:iconmoyayuki:
That's cool that you had a good time! I hope I'll be able to accompany you guys to Lincoln Park. Don't forget to contact me about if we could meet somewhere when you guys go. I also really want to hang out with you guys Downtown someday soon, especially since I want to go to the Downtown library really badly. ^^;

I'm thinking of showing up a little late to next year's parade (around 6pm perhaps), because it's rather yuck-o to wait a long time in the heat.

You make an adorable Near, and that teddy was awesome (good thing my sis didn't see it, or she would've ran off with it...LOL - just kidding).

Whoa...you've never heard of GK? It's the monthly cosplay gathering started over a year ago by the uber talented Kumi-chan (she was the Akane cosplayer at the parade, w/ her fiance Carlos as Ranma). It's now run by PhotoPanda (I'm sure you've heard of him), and often has like 30 to 80 people show up. Got its name from the location of its birth - Gasworks Park. It's a pun on "gas can" (which to me has deeper meaning, in that it "fuels our passion for cosplay").

Hahaha, Yeah my group was talking about showing up late around 6ish also..Also planning on bringing marshmallows to play Chubby Bunny with everyone.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it haha.
There was quite a bit of beforehand preparation for near (Such as going to bed early) hahah, yeah, Quite a few people in the crowd asked for my bear ;__; I totally would of given it to them...But the bear is too important to me <33

Oooh! This is the first time I ever heard of it.. I remember the Akane & Ranma cosplayers though, They stood in front of me at the parade <33
Is there anything important I should know if I were to talk to my group about coming to GK?
And thats a pretty cool way to think about the meaning and such.
:D
